A variation for shooting a card is from the side of a table. Get a card in lateral palm and hold the card with the thumb against the side of the table. By pressing on the card and pushing the card outward the card propels away. You can use this method for faking a shot from the middle of the deck like the fake centre shot by Lennart Green.
